EDIT 4/27/10: The faves keep coming! O__O; I never expected such favor of my simple tutorial heh..

Just a note, I've noticed some pictures of those who have done the tutorial and I'm seeing a pattern in accidentally having the fur go the wrong way on the ears. Make sure you get the fur fibers running toward the *pointed end* of the ear.. not toward the base. The pointy end of your ear should be seam ripped thus giving it a nice fluffy look at the ends!

I sew three bobby pins for each ear. I use regular thread and needle to wrap a tight loop around the U shape of the pin, fastening it to the edge of the ear. I sew one pin on the top of the curve of the ear, and the other two on each side.

When putting the ears on, I first place the top pin in horizontally through the hair. I then put in the front side pin, down vertically. Finally I put the back side pin down vertically.

Pins only work well if they stay nice in your hair regularly, or if you are wearing a wig and netted wig cap. I stay really well if you're wearing a wig and net cap.

Hope that explains some! Good luck!

Bobby pins work best if you are using a wig and cap. Bobby pins can be sewn on by looping thread several to a dozen times around the pin loop. I put three on each ear for mine. One on top and one on each side of the ear.

As far as a headband, it could be incorporated when attaching the craft wire by extending the wire beyond the bottom of the ear and wrapping around the band.. if that makes sense.
